PEOPLE SUMMIT: Catch up on all the great Medics focused content from People Summit

At the end of November, our annual People Summit was held in Liverpool and online. Throughout the summit, there was a plethora of sessions focused specifically on Medics workforce topics, delivered by both the team at RLDatix and partner organisations.

Here is a recap of some of the sessions held over the two days that delegates can watch back now on the People Summit On Demand Hub.

How Activity Based Rostering Helps us Create a Single Source of Truth

Jason Saridis, Deputy Director of HR, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust

In Jason’s session, he spoke about how using Allocate ActivityManager at their trust, they were able to roster their medics, along with other team members, by team activity rather than by shift pattern. This has led to greater transparency in shift activity for the organisation and saving time for people.

Why Starting an Implementation in ED was the Biggest Challenge, but the Right Place to Start

Nicola Riddell, eRostering Manager, NHS Forth Valley

In conversation with Dawn Downing, Programme Manager at RLDatix, Nicola spoke about how their health board started their eRostering rollout with both their medics and nurses in the Emergency Department, using Allocate Optima and Allocate Loop. She reflects on the challenges they faced but all in all, why it delivered the biggest results for their organisation.

How Job Planning is the Right Foundation to Tackling the Care Backlog

Derek Conlon, Deputy Head of eRostering and Bank Services, North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust

Derek spoke about how at their trust they have re-invigorated Consultant e-Job Planning in partnership with their NHSEI colleagues. Along with using Allocate JobPlan, their program has led to 80% of their job plans are now signed off within deadlines and they have full visibility of what is happening across the trust.

Panel Session: Loop | Hear from Customers Who Are #InTheLoop

In this panel session talking about their rollout of Allocate Loop to their workforce, Chris Hammersley, Product Marketing Manager at RLDatix, spoke with three organisations who had successfully rolled out the new app.

One of the panellists, Sophie Turner of Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, shared with everyone how they firstly introduced Loop to their newest rotation of Junior Doctors and how that has helped with engaging them, and making the right first impression.

REFLECTION: Darren Kilroy, Chief Medical Officer at RLDatix reflects on this year’s People Summit

“I want to take a moment of your time to reflect a particularly personal viewpoint following the People Summit. Seldom have we had the chance to gather in any number in recent years, and never on the scale we saw in Liverpool. To stand in front of hundreds of medics-world friends and colleagues was, on that basis alone, incredible.

But the event was something else for me, something quite different and unique. Because in Liverpool we witnessed a real sense of shared purpose, of optimism, energy, and possibility regarding our medical workforce solutions in a way I have never quite experienced before.

The stories of achievement we heard, the successes, the answers being found to the challenges, the dynamism of it all was just amazing. And that is thanks to the people; all of us, working collaboratively and supportively, recognising that these solutions can, do and will make a huge difference to safety and quality of care. The lived experiences of patients and staff are being enhanced by our efforts right now, in myriad ways.

That, to me, is the finest Christmas present one could hope to give or receive”
