Monthly Insights from a Medical Director
Dr. Darren Kilroy, Medical Director, RLDatix
As the NHS approaches the end of its financial year, our customers in that sector will be busily ensuring that their Q4 metrics are in good order such that the books can be closed on 2024, and the challenges of 2025-2026 faced with a clean sheet. At this time of year, our medics solutions have a particularly important supportive role to play in that context.
“Operationally, customers are facing huge backlogs of demand in both the nonelective and elective baskets. I’ve been pleased to see a high degree of engagement in our focus groups recently and in Q4 my reflection is that this represents that need I’ve just mentioned for providers to be not only delivering on demand but doing this against a financial imperative with only days to spare. Strategically, the medics solutions are vital tools for 2025-2026 as clinicians and their teams execute their job planning rounds. Here too we have seen a high level of interactive dialogue across the customer base, and this reflects the renewed national importance of job planning as set out by NHS England and – as they begin their decommissioning – thereafter by the Department for Health and Social Care.“
So, the medics portfolio is more significant in its influence at this time of year than at any other. I urge everyone to bear this in mind in their discussions with customers present and future. Where there are limitations in product functionality, we need to address those assertively – this is a highly competitive marketplace. Our medics customers are the most discerning and demanding of any within the RL Datix stable. We must continue to respond in real terms to their needs. We cannot allow churn on any basis whatsoever.
It is going to be a great year for the medics solutions in 2025-2026 if we continue to strive for perfection in our products, are confident in the benefits realisation they offer at every level of an organisation, and are lively to the feedback out customers provide.
