17th October 2019
Allocate UK has recognised another year of innovation, hard work and positive change in healthcare last night, at its annual awards ceremony.
The awards recognised excellence in workforce management from improved patient care and safety, reduced agency spend, better staff engagement and improved working environments. A total of seven winning and seven ‘highly commended’ awards were given to both UK hospital trusts and healthcare providers.
The 2019 winners are:-
- Making your organisation a great place to work
Winner: Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
The hospital implemented Allocate software on its neuroscience specialist ward to accurately record and display staffing data, which ensured the ward received the additional staff and support it needed to make it a great place to work.
Highly Commended: Virgin Care - Impacting clinical and performance targets
Winner: The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
The Trust rolled out Allocate SafeCare, to ensure that the right staff are in the right place at the right time, and ultimately enhance patient care.
Highly Commended: Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - Working inclusively across boundaries
Winner: South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS eRostering Group
By taking a robust and transparent approach to sharing KPI data and best practice, a regional e-rostering group successfully identified areas where they could increase efficiency, implement shared standards and develop a region-wide sustainable workforce.
Highly Commended: East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust - Operational Roster Excellence
Winner: London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
The Trust recognised that a lack of adequate training meant staff were not recognising the full benefits of the HealthRoster software. After improving their processes, the trust has now trained 300 nurses, improved staff’s work-life balance and seen a reduction in agency costs.
Highly Commended: Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust - Innovative Workforce models for better patient care
Winner: East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust
The Trust’s safer staffing team set up the rapid response initiative, a central staffing hub with oversight of the whole trust’s staffing position, using SafeCare.
Highly Commended: Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - Board Assurance
Winner: HCA Healthcare UK
HCA Healthcare UK can assess real-time performance against the CQC’s five key lines of enquiry following the implementation of Allocate’s software. Staff are empowered and see themselves as stakeholders who are embedding and implementing change.
Highly Commended: West London NHS Trust - Achieving Cultural Excellence
Winner: West London NHS Trust
The Trust has increased the happiness of its staff and created a better culture across the trust through improvements to shift allocation management.
Highly Commended: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
